DayZ update adds gardening to the post-apocalypse

Steam Early Access game DayZ’s 0.50 update adds gardening to the post-apocalyptic survival game’s stable servers along with a slew of other additions and changes.

At the moment, you can only grow tomatoes after tilling your garden, but developer Bohemia Interactive hopes to add more plants in the future. The plants grow in stages and then can be harvested and eaten.

A few video tutorials are available to teach you how to do it, though many of them were recorded when the update was only on the experimental branch servers.

The new update to the popular game also fixes bugs and adds new areas, weapons, lockpicking, clothes, and new animations. You can see the new areas in red below.
