Dragon Fin Soup in final day on Kickstarter

There’s just one day left in Dragon Fin Soup‘s Kickstarter campaign and they must be feeling pretty smug because they’ve raised a total of $102,139, when their original goal was just $24,000.

This extra money will go towards their stretch goals of endless labyrinth mode, online leader boards, porting to PS3, PS4 and Vita, an asian/oriental themed weapon pack and armor/clothing set, a sheep pet (and attendant quest), and playable skeletons in survival and labyrinth mode. They’ll also be holding a live Twitch stream on the final day of the Kickstarter, which is sometime around Thursday evening.

As you may have guessed from these stretch goals, Dragon Fin Soup is an SNES style RPG with roguelike elements that draws from fairytales for inspiration. The main character, for example, is a cheerily alcoholic version of Red Riding Hood called Red Robin.

The developer, Grimm Bros, is formed of several members who have previously worked at EA, Atari, Bioware/Pandemic, Subatomic Studios and Human Head Studios. Dragon Fin Soup is their first game as a studio.

The game will be released for PC, Mac, Linux, and the aforementioned Playstation platforms. It will also be on Steam Greenlight. The game is planned for release later in 2014.
